Sina Evans donation for NoLA Rising’s Art for Toys Swap
NoLA Rising has a long history of distributing artwork to the New Orleans area without cost.  This year, they continue the practice with a holiday art swap, “New Orleans: It’s Yours, Take It.”  The premise is simple: donate a new toy to children and take a piece of art home! The toys are then donated to programs for their annual holiday distribution.
This year, the work deadline will be Monday, December 5th, 2011. If you’re local to the New Orleans area, you can bring artwork by the Hi-Ho Lounge (2239 Saint Claude Avenue) in the St. Claude Arts District.

DesCours is a free, public, ten-night, architecture and art event now in its fifth year, held the first week of December in New Orleans. This event invites internationally renowned architects and artists to create ten architecture installations within ‘hidden’ locations in the heart of New Orleans, including private courtyards, rooftops, abandoned buildings and walkways, all locations normally unseen, inaccessible or unused by the public.

DesCours takes place on the evenings of Dec-2nd - 11th. Always a treat.
